Navigating in the Prospector Tool

Seeing that Prospector is not just an esnipe tool, but also a powerful search tool, then there is a need to take 10 to 15 minutes to get the hang of how to setup searches.

With that said, this leads us into the second way to move around in Prospector. You can do this by creating search groups, tabbed search pages, standard item searches, seller searches, bidder searches, and MUCH MUCH more.

Here’s the good thing about Prospector; you don’t have to use all the features that it offers to get good results!

When you perform a search and all of your search results are displayed, you can very simply bid from the search results page.

This was very important to our review process as this greatly simplifies the bidding and sniping process.

Prospector delivers an incredible range or search options. You can put searches into groups and update the whole group of searches all at one time.

Interested in automating your EBay searches? Done! Prospector does it all!

You can search on Froogle, Google, and Amazon just to name a few. With these search options, you can really ensure that find the best deal possible for the item that you want.

The search features take a little getting use to at first as you have so many options, yet we found it very worth while to get use to the search features.

Prospector allows you to exclude or include specific sellers in your searches. You can set just about any search option that your heart desires.

One way that we found to use the searches was to group a few different searches under a search group.

For each search, we would either add or remove a word to search on. We’d make a couple of searches in that search group to look for misspellings. Then all we had to do was to double-click on the search group. WHAM, all of our searches would show up in one screen for the item I’m looking for, including any possible item misspellings!

Once you have created your first search, you can very easily add an item to your EBay auction watch list. This is done just by checking the “Watch” checkbox to the left of the item you want to watch.

If you want to hide an item so that way it doesn’t show up in your search results anymore, simple check the “Hide” checkbox to the left of the item you don’t want to see anymore. This really helps you to cut down on unwanted items in your search results.

As you can see, Prospector is a powerful search tool.

Now you may be thinking, “A tool like this must cost a fortune.” However, that’s quite the contrary.

As we stated on our main Esnipe Guide page, just because you pay for something, doesn’t mean that it’s good, and just because something is free, doesn’t mean that it isn't good.

Well, Prospector Lite delivers on that statement 100%.

That’s because the Lite version is FREE!

Dynamic Bid Groups

When you schedule your snipe, you can either type in the name of a new search group, or pick an already created bid group from a simple list.

Of course, when one online auction item in the bid group is won, any remaining bids in that bid group are cancelled.

Conclusion

This tool does have its downfalls. You do have to install it on your computer, and the install is a little excessive, yet still easy enough for a non-computer-savvy person to setup.

You have the flexibility to setup searches in any way your heart desires, giving you incredible confidence that you are able to find the best deal available for the item that you want.

The bid groups feature is easy to setup as you either create them or select them from a list when you start the sniping process.

The thing that we loved the most about this tool was that everything you need to be very successful with buying online auctions was all in one place.

Prospector doesn’t open other windows to show you your search results. It doesn’t make you copy the online auction item number, then come back and put that number into an esnipe bid wizard as most other esnipe services do.
