How Does EZSniper Stack Up Against the Competition?

EZSniper had a simple layout. It wasn’t as simple as some of the other esnipe services. It was not intuitive at first as to where I needed to go to place a snipe after I had moved off the main page.

They do provide the ability to perform a few different types of searches by linking you to their with partner website.

As far as the pricing is concerned, it was slightly lower than other competitors. You pay 1% of the final auction price. The minimum fee is $0.10, instead of $0.25 as other services have. The maximum fee that you’ll be charged is $10.

A great benefit of the pricing that they setup is this: If you don’t win, you don’t pay.

Now, that’s hard to beat.

Bid groups are not supported. This was rather disappointed. At first, this site, even though the look of the site seemed a little odd, seemed to have some good potential.

This esnipe service had some “Top Tool” potential. However, that was blown with the lack of support for bid groups and the awkward search features.

The Search Window Maze

EZSniper did provide several different types of searches. You can search by bidder, keywords, items within a certain distance of your zip code, and really, just about anything.

So what’s the catch?

You have to do the searches through a different site.

Do you want to bid from the search results page? If so, that’s just too bad with this esnipe service.

The good side of this is that you can add a bookmark for what they call their “EZAdd” bookmark feature. If you click on an item from the search, it will take you to the EBay auction item page.

At that point, just click on the EZAdd bookmark and the EZSniper snipe window will come up with the details of the auction that you want to snipe.

This tool would have rated higher in the search features category if they hadn’t created such a maze of windows to get the job done.

Bid Groups

EZSniper does support bid group. Even though they do have the ability to have one auction bid depend on the failure of another auction, it still does not provide the benefits that bid groups offer.

Once again, this tool failed to provide important features in an easy to get to fashion.

Conclusion

EZSniper, after all was said and done, came across as “just another esnipe service”. Nothing stood out about this site that just shouted “use me!”

Without providing a more simple search / sniping process, we were really turn-off by this tool.

The search features of their companion search site got our attention at first just because of all the search features available. However, the search engine is very minimally linking to the EZSniper website.

Here’s to yet another esnipe service that doesn’t put all the important features at your fingertips!
